Independent financial analyst and Certified Financial Planner covering AI infrastructure, semiconductor supply chains, and equity markets with a data-driven, long-term investing approach.
Balaji N is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and the founder of True Value Research, an independent financial research practice that publishes in-depth equity research, sector analysis, and macro commentary. He has followed equity markets for over a decade, with a particular focus on how major technology transitions create investment opportunities — and risks — that the broader market is slow to price correctly.
His analytical work centres on primary source research: SEC filings, earnings transcripts, industry data, and valuation modelling built from scratch. He does not republish analyst consensus or repackage press releases. The goal of every piece of research at True Value Research is to say something the data actually supports — not what the market wants to hear.
Before founding True Value Research in 2026, Balaji spent years studying capital cycles in technology sectors: the semiconductor upcycle of 2020–2022, the cloud hyperscaler margin expansion through 2024, and the AI infrastructure buildout that began reshaping markets in 2023. These cycles — and the companies that benefit from them — remain the core focus of his research today.
GPU clusters, networking fabrics, power delivery, liquid cooling, and the storage layer powering AI data centres. Coverage includes Nvidia, Vertiv, Bloom Energy, Astera Labs, and Western Digital.
HBM memory cycles, lithography equipment, advanced packaging, and DRAM supply dynamics. Coverage includes ASML, SK Hynix, Micron, KLA, Lam Research, and Applied Materials.
Business model analysis, segment revenue breakdown, free cash flow modelling, and peer valuation benchmarking across growth and value stocks.
Interest rate cycles, credit spreads, capital flows between sectors, and how monetary policy shapes equity valuations — particularly in rate-sensitive technology names.
The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation is one of the most rigorous credentials in financial services, awarded by the CFP Board. It requires completing a comprehensive financial planning education programme, passing a proctored examination covering investment planning, tax strategy, retirement planning, estate planning, and risk management, and maintaining ongoing continuing education to retain the credential.
In addition to the CFP credential, Balaji's analytical background covers quantitative financial modelling, sector-specific valuation frameworks (EV/Revenue for high-growth technology, EV/EBITDA for mature industrials, and DCF scenario analysis for capital-intensive businesses), and technical analysis applied to trade timing and risk management.
Trade ideas published on True Value Research are disclosed with full transparency at the time of publication — including entry price, price target, stop-loss level, risk-to-reward ratio, and the complete investment thesis. Outcomes are documented publicly. A selection of completed trades:
| Stock | Direction | Entry | Target Hit | Gain | Timeframe |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zscaler (ZS) | Long | $122.50 | $147.50 (T1) | +20% | ~6 weeks |
| Credo Technology (CRDO) | Long | $250 | $300 (T2) | +22% | 8 days |
Every piece of research at True Value Research follows a structured process grounded in primary source documents. For equity research, the process begins with SEC filings — 10-K annual reports, 10-Q quarterly filings, and 8-K current reports. All financial figures are verified against the source filing, not third-party data aggregators.
The analytical sequence: business model (what the company sells, to whom, and at what unit economics), competitive landscape (pricing power, switching costs, and who threatens the moat), financial picture (revenue trajectory, margin expansion or compression, and free cash flow quality), and valuation (appropriate multiple framework for the sector, with scenario analysis around bull and bear cases).
For trade setups, fundamental analysis is combined with technical analysis. Entry levels are defined by chart structure. Stop-loss levels are placed at points where the technical thesis is invalidated. Risk-to-reward ratios are calculated and disclosed explicitly with every published trade.
